Siala Technical Training Institute opened its doors to the first students in September 2016. Siala TTI replaced the former Moi Institute of Technology, MIT, which was upgraded to university status, Rongo University.
The role of technology in the development of a country cannot the overemphasized. Kenya’s industrialization goal cannot be achievement unless technical training is given the emphasis it deserves. It is in recognition of this fact that Siala Technical Training Institute endeavors to train highly qualified and competent technical personnel and technologists who can help to inculcate a technical culture amongst the youth of Kenya.
STTI derives its authority from the TVET Act 2013 which mandates it to offer technical and business courses for the job market in the country.
To provide access and opportunities to students by offering quality market-driven skills through research, partnerships and collaboration with industry and community.
To be a Center of excellence in research, skills training in science, engineering and technology in collaboration with industry and community.
